Sadly, after being placed on a waiting list, I have been notified by the Cradle that I will not get reservations for the event, and therefore will not be able to attend. She said that after such a heavy response, they will likely try to organize this event again.------------------ Mike [Edited by FutureAstronaut (November 09, 2006).] |

Mike- I'll bet there will be no-shows with your odds of getting in to your advantage. |

No, I called the Cradle after you posted, and they told me that I was so far back on the waiting list, that the people in front of me got top priority, and I was almost guaranteed to not get three seats(My parents too).Hopefully next time I will get reservations, but if not, I will be sure to show up anyway. How was the event?

It was wonderful to see Scott and Wally (and you too Tracy). They had interesting thoughts and stories to share. As usual, Wally had lots of great jokes and really had us laughing. There was a video message from John Glenn who had been unable to attend the event. He had some funny jokes too. Are you a Turtle? YBYSAIA Jim Sigler |

Unfortunately, I had to leave as soon as it was over. It was wonderful to see everyone, no matter how short the time was.Our astronauts are truly national treasures and listening to any and all of them is being a part of history. The Scott Carpenter/Bill Douglas centerfuge story was an evening highlight. They are truly "the brotherhood".

Definitely was a great evening. I've had the chance to meet a number of the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo astronauts via the UACC autograph shows, but this was very different as you get to hear them tell their stories for an hour and half or so. If you get the chance, I would definitely recommend attending one of these types of lectures.Tracy, sorry you had to leave so quickly, I was going to come by and say hello, but did't get the chance even though you were sitting in the row behind me.
