Just got an email from Alan Williams at Goddard Space Flight Center:
quote:
Thought you would want to know; at 7:30 this morning the Gemini 12 spacecraft was removed from our care.

So, it's off to the Kansas Cosmosphere for restoration, until it resurfaces some time next year in Chicago at the Adler Planetarium (http://www.collectspace.com/news/news-041605a.html).

It was nice to be able to take a 20 minute ride to the Goddard Visitor Center, on a day when looking for something to do, and be able to visit the Gemini 12 spacecraft. I am going to miss having it here in Maryland !

I am going to enjoy seeing it at the Cosmosphere. I drove out to see the Gemini 6 and Gemini 10 while they were being restored. I hope the Cosmosphere puts Gemini 12 on display for a while.
