SIGN UP NOW !

If you use a software satellite tracking program/s on your PC you have no doubt been picking up TLE's from sites like NASA OIG or Celestrak (or some others like Orbitron).

You may know that NASA OIG site is DOWN and has not bee updated for some days and may not be before it is closed for good at end month.

Two Line elements will - and are now - being provided by the Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) new Space Track site .

To use the AFSPC site though you need to ceate an account (free) at:-
http://www.space-track.org

YOU need to sign up - you will NOT be transferred automatically from OIG or any other site.

Dr Kelso (Celestrak site) noted today that only 1,488 Users out of his 27,000 Users have signed up to AFSPC site.

The transition period from NASA OIG to ASFPC was due to last 90 days (thru to 1st April) but it looks like it will be hastened by the NASA OIG computer system outage.

All times are CT (US)
