Hi,
just wanted to ask everybody if I´m right in respect to the bright object at the rim of Bonneville which can be seen on different Spirit pictures as for example http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/all/2/p/068/2P132398621EFF1800P2285L6M1.JPG
Would fit well with the assumed heatshield impact location, I think it´s not another mars bunny and not a giant shrimp. What
do you think?

It is the heatshield; that is what they said during Thursday's press conference I was told (though I did not see it myself).

I was told that Spirit's chute and reentry capsule are directly behind the rover in the distace, compared to that view and can be seen in other photos.

Yeah, I think I'll have to vote for that color Bonneville crater photo as my favorite Mars picture yet. It's just way cool! The "Arizona desert" in the foreground, the crater with the sand in the bottom, heatshield perched on the edge, the mountains in the distance, and the nice clear sunny skies!

All times are CT (US)
