Hello everyone just wanted to give an observation of my 5yr old son Decklans visit with Gen. Collins. first off i want to give a HUGE thanks you to Kim , Sally , Stef ,Linda and all the rest of the crew at Novaspace, they treated my son and I like royalty. I was struck at how warm and genuinely nice Kim was to us , for some reason i didnt quite expect him to be so warm and nice with all the pressure of running that whole event, but he was so cool and calm and peaceful , it was great. the next thing that i noticed was how impressive that Novaspace was , its like some sort of museum with tons of cool artwork , signed astro pictures and all sorts of the coolest stuff you could imagine , heck you could spend hours just looking and salivating at all the stuff... well there we were , Deck and i watching all this Mike (as he insisted we call him) was so sweet to my little son , if for just that reason alone , he is one of my heros, he talked with us for what seems like hours , he was patient with my son , and he ever so graciously signed tons of stuff for us and posed for pictures with a whole bunch of my items , including pictures with my AP 11 flown items ( no kidding , i had TWO suitcases full of stuff) anyway another thing that totally struck me was how gentle and meticulous that Sally and Stef were with all the stuff that was sent in to be signed , they had such an efficient operation , they would first check out each item closely , read the instructions carefully , then relay each detail to Mike who would take time to inspect each item , then sign each thing exactly as was instructed , boy what a careful and smooth operation , i was really impressed ! i cannot impress enough what a FIRST CLASS place and operation Kim and Sally have there at novaspace you just have to see it to believe it. anyway the time spent there with my son and Gen. Collins was beyond really putting into words , but what i can say is that i would have paid over FIVE times what the auction cost me to win that day with Gen. Collins He was funny , warm , sincere, sweet and nice , and Kim and Sally and everybody else was as kind and warm, heck even beyond what i could have ever expected. the people have posted some of the pictures at www.novaspace.com of the day , go and check them out if you wish , anyway , Hanging out with Gen.Mike Collins a true historical figure and heck of a nice guy, Beyond cool.... Kim , Sally and all the people at novaspace , really great! Novaspace Gallery, a mini museum in itself, wow , the great lunch that Linda at Novaspace prepared for all of us...yummy , the look on little Decks face as he fell asleep on the airplane holding one of gazillion items that Mike signed for him on the flight home...... PRICELESS !!!! thanks again Kim and Sally and all.......Eddie Braun

Eddie,

Were possible future signings by General Collins (or possibly the Apollo 11 crew, though unlikely) discussed?

Regards,

Rick.

I'd like to echo that....any word on future signings?
Also, any discussion(s) about why Gen. Collins won't sign covers?

Must've been a helluva day, even if these things never came up. Congrats to all involved!

Eddie, it looks like you and your son had the experience of a lifetime!! Very envious, but also very glad someone got to meet the "real" M. Collins, a person who I have always thought would be the best to hang with for a day. I knew the moment I started laughing out loud reading "carrying the fire" (His whole shaken-wedding incident), that there was something special about this man. His wit must be incredible in person! Hope this was all it could be for you,(and your son). ook Kim, lets do this again......

Eddie,

Thanks... Just confirms all the great aspects of the operation with Kim, Sally, and all the folks there... a real class act and addition to our "hobby." Glad it worked out so well for you and your son....... Certainly thanks to Mike as well for his graciousness over the years....
