ANNAPOLIS, Md.-The Navy cross country team would like to invite the general public to join them in a three mile walk on the Navy cross country (USNA Golf Course) course that will commemorate the life of Astronaut Willie McCool ('83) on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 8:50 a.m.

The walk will start at the future site of his memorial, which is based on his best time of 24:47 and being "15 minutes from home" as the Space Shuttle Columbia was before the tragic accident.

The walk will take approximately 30 minutes and will commence at exactly 8:59 a.m., which is the same time that last contact was made with Columbia on Feb. 1, 2003.
