Lockheed Martin is scheduled to launch the last of its Titan II rockets today, ending a program with a rich history and deep roots in Denver.

The Titan II was born as an intercontinental ballistic missile more than 40 years ago, launched astronauts on 10 Gemini missions for NASA during the 1960s and finally served as a launch vehicle for government satellites.
