From NASA Space Station On-Orbit Status:"Today, continuous manned occupancy of the ISS reaches 1000 days. What a milestone in human frontiers exploration history!" The Expedition 7 crew, Commander Yuri Malenchenko and NASA International Space Station Science Officer Ed Lu, will commemorate the 1,000th day of continuous human presence Tuesday at 10:35 a.m. EDT on NASA TV. They have a long way to go before they equal Mir's record! 15 years = 5475 days. |

Correct me if I am wrong, but Mir wasn't continually occupied for the full 15 years. My understanding is that the longest period on Mir when humans were aboard the station was 2641 days. |

Well, I was thinking of the Mir Station itself being in orbit...but either way, the ISS and its crews have a long way to go yet to equal that record! NASA tends to carry on as though they're the only ones to achieve this. |
