Belgium's second cosmonaut Air Force Colonel Frank De Winne was voted ( with over 40% of votes ) ""Man of the year 2002"" in Belgium ... leaving politicians and popstars far behind him ! ( Remember Belgium's first astronaut was Dirk Frimout on STS-45 in 1992 ) |

In fact there were different votes ... the one I already mentioned was done via the website of Flanders Television VTM so the general public could vote ... Thanks for the background, Alain. Hence my question: this panel makes him "Fleming of the Year" at best - or were there similar casts in the French speaking media? If so, then there would be three Belgians in total then: The King, Dirk Frimout, and Frank De Winne :-)
