Yesterday Belgian National television showed images of the Soyuz TMA-01 crew which completed their exams for the upcoming 28 October mission ... It showed the 3 cosmonauts - Sergei ZALYOTIN + Yuri LONCHAKOV + Frank DE WINNE - getting out of the Soyuz simulator walking up to the officials and signing the books ...
There was also a short interview with the newly added third crewmemeber Lonchakov replacing Lance Bass ...
Belgian Air Force Colonel Frank DE WINNE will be the second Belgian in space ( or third if You count the world-famous comic character TINTIN on the Moon together with Dr. Frimout on STS-45 Atlantis )...
BIS spaceflight magazine November 2002 has an article on the preparation of the second Belgian cosmonaut in training which I can send in .pdf format ( Need Free downloadable Acrobat Reader to view it ) ...

Philip,

concerning TINTIN, aren't captain Haddok, Tournesol (Cuthbert Calculus in English) and the Dupont and Dupond (Thomson and Thompson in English) belgians as well? As for Wolf and his stowaway passenger, they seem to be German, right?)
