Can anybody give me a comparison of the diference of watching a launch from Titusville vs buying a ticket and viewing from the causeway. I saw a night launch from the causeway last July, I'm not sure whether its worth the cost. Anybody seen launches from enough different locations to give me some insight? Thanks!

Well, if you've seen a night launch from the causeway you know what it's like. The big difference is the sound; from Titusville, rather than the skin-vibrating roar, expect a duller, but still loud, launch. It's six miles compared to 10.

That's about as simple as I can make it.

It's worth the 15$ for the causeway, yes.

I saw STS-56 launch from the causeway at night. It was stunning, even from 6 miles. Not as loud as from the press site, but still very impressive.

I expect to be at the 113 launch. Any chance other Collect Space members are interested in meeting?

One other question: Last time I was in the space coast I picked up a 113 lapel pin. But I noticed it still has Loria's name as PLT. He has since been replaced by Lockhart. Would this now become a collectible item? I doubt it is rare.

All times are CT (US)
