I would like to update our community on the space related postmarks that appeared in Russia during 2017. This list is probably not complete, as I did not take a deep look into the Post Service bulletins. Fixed date: - 29.3 – Vladimir Komarov (Moscow, Baikonur)
- 13.7 – Gonetz satellite navigation system (Moscow, Baikonur, Zheleznogorsk)
- 17.9 – Konstantin Tsiolkovsky 160th anniversary (Kaluga, Kirov, Ryazan)
- 3.10 – Tsiolkovsky Cosmonautics museum (GMIK) 50th anniversary (Kaluga)
- 4.10 – Sputnik 60th anniversary (Moscow)
- 3.11 – 2nd Sputnik with Laika 60th anniversary (Moscow)
- 2.11 – 50th anniversary of Orbita satellite system (Moscow, Baikonur)
- 27.11 – Plesetsk 60th anniversary (Moscow, Mirny)
New additional space postmark with interchangeable date was introduced for Penza. All the events accompanied by one or more of official postcards issues (including locals) and numerous private designs and stamped cachets (including Baikonur-Svyaz-Inform). Other space events were marked by already existing postmarks with interchangeable date (like Cosmonautics day, Space Glory, Space Research, etc.). (Two ISS onboard postmarks were also issued – 110th anniversary of Sergey Korolev and 60th anniversary of Sputnik.) | |
