I will be going on a long awaited trip to Kennedy Space Center in February. I would like to take with me a few covers signed by STS crews which bear shuttle-related stamps but without any cancellation/postmark.Would anyone please be kind enough to advise where to go at Kennedy Space Center or Titusville to obtain on site cancellations for these covers? Since these are signed, I do not want to mail them but just pass them to the postal employee and have him/her cancel the envelopes that I could take back with me right away.
The stamps' value is sufficient to have them cancelled. At this stage, I would take any form of space related cancellation (KSC or Cape Canaveral) but, if at all possible, I would prefer a KSC hand stamp cancellation.
Is there a place at KSC rendering this service? I also read on a post here that the USPS office on S. Washington Ave. in Titusville has a KSC hand stamp. Did I understand this correctly and is it still the case? Would that be the best place to go or is there a better place I should go?
