A few weeks ago I was asking around about getting my Expedition 34 cachets cancelled from Baikonur. No luck.My next attempt was to try sending my cachets to the Johnson Space Center stamp club (they used to handle manned flight cancels until the end of the shuttle program). Today I received my cachets (uncancelled) but they did give me a new address for Soyuz launches to the ISS: Franklin Street Post Office Attn: Cancellation Request 401 Franklin St. Houston, TX 77201 Hope this helps my fellow cancellation chasers. |

Indeed Gordon Ducote, who was "da man" in respect to getting covers cancelled and cacheted at the JSC Stamp Club, retired a while ago. At the moment, there is no one to ensure philatelic services at the club. The Houston downtown post office (now renamed to "Barbara Jordan Post Office" which you mention does indeed service covers. They have several very nice pictorial postmarkers relating to the station. Their services are sometimes a bit slow as well, due to the fact that Roy Gómez who went into retirement was not replaced (logically, after the end of the shuttle program, there are less cancellation requests to be serviced there). But they still provide a very good service with very nice cancellations.
