The postal administration of the Isle of Man has been issuing a series of six stamps showing Alan Bean paintings of the Moon. The highlight of the issue is a First Day of Issue cover of these stamps autographed by Bean. Only 750 were produced, says their website. At £22.50, this is a fair price for a Bean autograph. |

I received my Edgar Mitchell cover yesterday, perhaps not the tidiest version of his signature I've ever seen but pretty good value for £23. After the Alan Bean cover and now Edgar Mitchell lets hope they cotinue this trend for releasing signed covers. |

I thought so too. So is this due to his age or the number of signatures (750)? |

My initial thought was that it was the quality of the pen more than anything, but the number of covers might have had something to do with it, mine was numbered in the 500s (I think). |

Thought it was worth checking out the Isle of Man's postal service website to see if they had anything new, pleased to report a signed Dick Gordon cover is now available at a cost of £23.50! |

My cover turned up today, very nice looking and reasonably priced piece. Only slight grumble is the cover lists him as Richard Gordon - Pilot, whereas Alan Bean and Edgar Mitchell were both listed as Lunar Module Pilot.Still small gripe aside, lets hope we can see a few more of these very nice items! |

I did my periodic check of the Isle of Man post office website check today to see if there had been any additions to their range. It seems that Al Worden and Charlie Duke signed covers are now available for £23.50 each. |

That's the problem, I was treating each addition to this series as an unexpected bonus, now I'm starting to raise my expectations to silly levels! |

Well, what, five done? Who's left? If this series is just the crews which landed on the moon - including the Apollo 13 attempt - I think we can reasonably expect to see a Fred Haise, Al Worden and then Gene Cernan (my speculation.) Bonus would be getting, in this order following them, Jim Lovell, Dave Scott, Jack Schmitt, Ken Mattingly and then Buzz Aldrin. The really big ifs, in order: Young, Collins and Armstrong. I haven't been collecting these, since I don't need another thing to look for, but if they do come out with a Mattingly I'd gladly pick it up. And if do come up with Young, I'll somehow get the money to fly over there and pick it up in person! |

No new ones available as yet but after a delay I have now received the Charlie Duke cover to go with the Al Worden one I received a few weeks ago. Both very nice covers and well worth the price. This is building into a nice little standalone collection now. Lets hope for a few more in the new year! |

I suspect the weather has compounded the delay. I have some family on the Isle of Man and I can remember them often saying that any adverse weather makes the postage system from there to the mainland pretty much grind to an instant halt. |
