The KSC pictorial cancels are 3" long (horizontal) and 1" high (vertical). You can also send any covers you want processed/cancelled with the 40th Apollo 11 anniv. device direct to me as I will be handling much of the philatelic mail for KSC's Merritt Island processing. Also, Chris, I need your mailing address for some complimentary cover shipments that I promised you from a prior cS posting.

Ken, that would be great to send the covers to you for canceling - thanks! I have a few questions about how many covers I can send in, etc. Please email me at chris@calleart.com so we can exchange addresses.

As a reminder, if anyone would like my father (or me) to sign covers we are happy to do so...

It appears that the cancel to be used at Sindelfingen has been cancelled. The competitive stamp exhibition it was to be used for has.

There is one more pictorial cancel commemorating Apollo in Italy, even though it's rather the 41st Anniversary and even though the opportunity to use it rather stems from the Italian Post issuing a stamp to honor astronomer Schiaparelli, the guy who first "discovered" the "canals" on Mars.

Now for the details:
Date: July 3, 2010
Place: 10121 Torino Centro;
Serial number: 1020
Text: “Mostra Filatelica ‘Astrofilatelia è le scienze’" (Philatelic Exhibition - Astrophilately and the sciences)
Ill.: Saturn V rocket

Send your stamped covers to:
Poste Italiane
Filiale di Torino
Servizio Commerciale/Filatelia,
Via Alfieri 10
10121 Torino Centro
Italy.

Our friend Umberto Cavallaro is behind the cancel, so for cacheted postcards contact him at: ucavallaro@alice.it

There are until now two pictorial postmarkers dealing with Schiaparelli directly, which I will deal with in a separate message.

All times are CT (US)
