You are correct! Just send the envelopes you want canceled to the "station" address and request the "pictorial cancel" be used on the envelopes. Some collectors have their address on them and the envelopes will usually be returned through the regular mail (at the risk of overcancels etc.) along the way. Some, but not all, post offices will put them in some type of protective covering but many do not. If you want to be sure of no overcancels send a SASE for their return (many times it will receive the pictorial cancel too!). The Space Unit offers many past pictorial cancels in their auctions. Check out the latest auction list on their web site at: http://stargate.1usa.com/stamps/ [Edited by yeknom-ecaps (December 13, 2006).] |

A "cacheted cover" is an envelope with a postmark plus a picture and/or text on the envelope. An example would be an envelope postmarked at KSC for the STS-116 launch with the STS-113 mission emblem printed on the left side of the envelope. Several example can be seen in threads on this site (e.g. X-Prize Postmark thread shows the GRC pictorial postmark being applied to an envelope with a cachet already applied.Cachets can be printed, applied by rubber stamp, etc. |

This is an example of a "cacheted cover." There is a picture of some kind on the left side of the cover. [Edited by Astro Bill (December 19, 2006).] |

Has anyone had a problem with getting their cancelled covers back? I used the Christmas City Fla address and received my covers back with no cancell and a Christmas City cachet(Small). Can anyone provide a phone number or address to re submit for the cancell. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy Holiday........ |

I also have not received my FLOREX covers back in the mail. It may take a few more weeks for the covers to be processed. |
