Hello everyone,
I found this by accident when I was searching for rocket mail covers. I have this Rocket Mail Cover I bought this cover years ago among some other different air mail covers and I'm trying to get more information about this cover in particular. I managed to find out that the signature on the cover is for the German Rocket pioneer, Gerhard Zucker. If you know more information about this cover (e.g. how many signed covers like this exist, and how much do you think this would bring if I offered it for sale,...) Thank you in advance for your comments.

Hello Mohamed:
Your rocket cover is listed in the Ellington Zwisler Rocket Mail Catalog, under Germany with a catalog # of EZ6C1. There were a total of 300 covers flown for this flight. The few covers that I have seen have been autographed by Zucker.

The catalog value of your cover is $50.00+, (there is a note in the catalog that this price is for basic covers, franked with the more common rocket stamps but covers with the rarer stamps, such as the 3 mark stamp on your cover, would have a catalog value of $300).

this catalog was published in 1967, I saw another dealer selling a basic cover a few years ago for $50 which is the catalog value, and I would estimate your cover to be valued today at the full catalog value or more.

This catalog has been sold out for many years now but you might be able to find one in a philatelic reference library, if you need to look it up.

I have USA rocket mail items for sale on my website for anyone interested: http://www.spacecovers.com/pricelists/prclst_rktusa1.htm

Joe
