Hi Gang-

Well, I was lucky enough to fulfill a distant dream of getting a Gemini 10 crew signed cover a couple of weeks ago (thanks Wayno!). Now comes time to pay the family savings account back. I'll be putting up three or four primo space covers on eBay each week for several weeks. This week see a Gemini 5 KSC Official Cachet, Gemini 6 Captain's Cover, and Skylab 4 USS New Orleans Beck Cachet. Search by seller name micropooz. Good luck and have fun!

Dennis, it sounds like some interesting items you will have available (especially the GT-5 KSC).

What do you think is rarer-- a Gemini 3, Gemini 4, Gemini 8, or a Gemini 10 crew autographed cover? These are certainly the scarcest because they involve Gus Grissom and Ed White (both deceased) and John Young, Mike Collins, and Neil Armstrong (alive but not signing covers).

Congratulations on getting the GT-10 cover.

Dave-

Thanks for the kind words!

Boy, what is tougher between a GT3, 4, 8, or 10 crew signed cover? Hard to say. It seems that I have seen more GT4's out on the open market (like Superior/Aurora) than any of the rest, so it may be slightly easier than the rest. But that is still a relative term. Bear in-mind that this is coming from someone who still needs a GT4 crew signed cover (and a GT8).

Certainly genuine crew signed covers for GT-3, GT-8 and GT-10 are rare and rarely found or offered. IMO, GT-4 crew signed covers are only scarce and are offered occasionally.

IMO, GT-3 (Grissom/Young) is the rarest of the Gemini crew signed covers, with GT-8 and -10 not far behind. Because of the rarity of those three, putting together a set of authentic crew signed covers for the ten Gemini flights is much harder than putting together a set of authentic crew signed covers for the eleven Apollo flights.

The "tough" Apollo crew signed covers are Apollo 8 (one just sold on Astro-auction for only $550), Apollo 10 (available occasionally), Apollo 11 (you can get one just about anytime you have $2,000+ available for an Insurance cover) and Apollo 16.

Probably most of us who collect crew signed covers will agree that GT-3, GT-8 and GT-10 crew signed covers are the hardest to find of all the 21 Gemini and Apollo flights. The availability of certain authentic Apollo Insurance covers makes obtaining several key Apollo crew signed covers not difficult, although expensive.

Wow! With one day left to go on the aforementioned auction items, I am amazed at the response they have gotten!

So, I've gone ahead and listed a second round today. Search on eBay under seller name micropooz for a Gemini 7 Captain's cover, Apollo 11 KSC Official, and a couple of books that will be of interest to planetary mission aficionados. Have fun!

Well, gang, the second week of the "Feed the Starving Micropooz" fund drive has amazed me just as much as the first one! The savings account is starting to breathe again after purchasing the GT10 crew auto'd cover. But I'm still not there yet. This week I've put up the Sarzin folders for the Freedom 7 and Liberty Bell 7 Mercury flights and a neat pack of Mars postcards. Links are, respectively:

In the spirit of our favorite cover dealer, Karl Hass, I'm starting the Sarzin folders at $9.00 so everyone can have an affordable shot at them. Go have fun!

Next week I will put up the remainder of the Mercury Sarzin folder collection.
