UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi released the SpaceX Crew-6 patch (via Twitter). Our Crew-6 mission patch is here, happy and excited to share it with you. The crew includes Al Neyadi, NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Warren Hoburg and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev. Al Neyadi also posted the patch decription: Sailing across the Crew-6 patch, the ship represents both our destination, the International Space Station, and the vessels that countless explorers have steered into the unknown. The ISS anchors us, on the dawn of missions to the Moon and Mars. The ship's sail, a symbol of the 2012 Cosmonaut class, has relative radii matching those of Earth, the Moon and Mars. The Draco constellation represents the Commercial Crew Program, and shares a name with the thrusters that maneuver our Dragon spacecraft. The ship's Dragon figurehead looks to the future, as we also look back at Earth, grateful for the tireless hours of all who support our mission.  |

The AB Emblem 4" patch has the SKU patch design number 447519 (which is an October 2022 number). There may well be late 2022 date code(s) on this Crew-6 patch?The details on the embedded labels seen so far are now confirmed as; - 447519 A-B Emblem Made In USA 01/23 20
- 447519 A-B Emblem Made In China 01/23 01
- 447519 A-B Emblem Made In USA 02/23 20
- 447519 A-B Emblem Made In USA 03/23 20 (USAF Space)

Received my example today from Joe at Skyforce. Not impressed that it's made in China. I thought AB Emblem were staying with US production for their mission patches or was that purely for NASA exclusive missions?Also the pale blue thread used on the China example appears to be a lighter shade. |

I was under the impression that current NASA mission patches (and this would qualify) are made in North Carolina. Older patches would be made outside the US.I’m surprised that this is not the case with this patch. |

This scenario seams to be happening a little more often in recent times. The "made in China" patch runs are being produced, either at the same time as the early production runs made at Weaverville, like in this case, or a week or two just after in the same month.For this Crew-6 patch I still think we will see one or possibly two 2022 production run date codes. (Either 10/22 20, 11/22 20 or 12/22 20)? The crew issued batch of patches issued normally ahead of, or during mission training, would certainly have a 2022 date code on them. The 01 at the end of the China date code, I've been told, is for a "special order." |

I just received a Crew 6 patch from NASA JSC Shop (Shop NASA). it does not have the tag on the back like AB patches do and came without a backer card. An idea who makes it? |

It is definitely different to the Crew-6 patch on the AB Emblem website. I don't know who the manufacturer could be yet? |

My guess is that the Shop NASA-sourced patch is made by the same company that produces its embroidered apparel. |

The correct name is not "Sultan"; the name is UAE astronaut Sultan "Al Neyadi". |

And Russian transliteration can vary, but I would spell it Fedyayev. |

When it comes to questions about the English spelling of Russian cosmonauts' name, I generally defer to what they have printed on their Sokol name tag: Interestingly, though, Fedyaev had an earlier Sokol tag that read: "Fediyev". |
