The Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission is NASA's demonstration of kinetic impactor technology, impacting an asteroid to adjust its speed and path. DART will be the first-ever space mission to demonstrate asteroid deflection by kinetic impactor.

Looks boring to me. Seems like there could have been several better options for the test/program.

This is an excellent example of good logo design, turned into the 'bag of elements' patch designs that sadly are oh so very common these days.
Design by committee, I've always called it. I promise you, both the second and third patches are like that because several people (who probably couldn't be ignored) all said, "Hey, how about adding _____" with no regard for overall design. People just have to say they added a tiny little element for either simple ego or a bullet point on their annual evaluation.
Such things are inevitable, and anyone who does design will tell you it's the most annoying thing about designing anything.

I've been on the lookout for one of these, and an employee-issued version popped up on eBay (314110286667) recently. Interesting that they seem to have gotten a bit lazy with depicting the planets on the left side, but packed in a few more asteroids on the right, relative to the embroidered version posted earlier in this thread.
SpaceX may be bringing payload launch prices down, but pulling patches out of their store isn't helping with merch prices...

It unusual for the employee version vary that much from the souvenir version. I don't doubt its authenticity, I am just noting that it doesn't happen very often.
