This "Mission Control" patch shows up once in awhile (e.g. eBay 192259712286). Does anyone know what it is for or if it has any relevance?

It will be interesting to see what it is when it is delivered...

I suspect it's a fake patch or possibly an anniversary patch. We'll see.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I cannot find the dates to see if they overlap, but I wonder if this patch is related to the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) 8th IAA Man in Space Symposium that was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1989.

It would be Tashkent embroidered on the patch.

Well, I finally got the patch. It is sealed on the back, but not coated. It also has a cut edge. So it's definitely vintage. Other than that, not much to go on. Considering their rarity (these rarely come up for sale, maybe a couple times a year), I'm leaning towards it being for some office or project.

Any thoughts?

I have conducted an extensive search and cannot find anything on this "In Man in Space" patch. I appreciate any insight.

At first I was thinking it might have had something to do with STS-30 but that was May 4 - May 8, 1989.

I think it is related to fluid dynamics in the human body in a microgravity environment. The mission control reference is throwing me and I can't correlate the date to anything.

All times are CT (US)
