Was watching the PBS documentary last night, titled "Beyond A Year In Space," and it featured NASA’s Astronaut Group 21. Noticed some were wearing a patch resembling the meatball logo on their shirts, except an 8-ball from pool/billiards took up the space where the word NASA would normally be in the logo. Don’t have a picture to share, but I thought it looked pretty cool. I understand that the logo is a nod to the group’s nickname, the "Eight Balls," and thought other training groups might have similar designs based on their group (nick)name. |

I've seen the 8-balls design in challenge coin form and also really like the artwork. Did the patch have the astronaut names on it? |

I don’t believe so, the footage moved along fairly quickly. Looked like just the image without names. If I remember correctly, they showed it two to three times in quick glimpses. |

The 8-ball makes an appearance on the back cover of an EVA cuff checklist during ISS Expedition 61.
