NASA's Human Exploration Research Analog (HERA) is a three-story habitat located at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas that is used to simulate flight operations and study confinement and isolation in support of the space agency's exploration programs.

Crews of four volunteers have lived inside HERA for simulated missions to an asteroid for upwards of 30 days. (Members of the collectSPACE community have been members of at least three HERA crews.)

Each HERA crew has had a mission patch to represent their time inside the habitat. The first ten crew patches can be seen here (photo credit the HERA X crew):

The HERA XI crew took inspiration from the Apollo 11 insignia:

The HERA XII crew "splashed down" after a 30-day mission on Oct. 19, 2016:
As this marks the end of HERA’s Campaign 3, HRP is well underway in preparing for Campaign 4 which will begin in early 2017. Campaign 4 will extend the mission to 45 days.
HERA XII patches, decals and coins are available via the mission's commander:

It was close to the Gemini X 50 year anniversary for our Mission X, so we designed ours with a nod to the large Roman numeral ten and gold crew stars from their patch.

When I showed it to Mike Collins at Spacefest, he laughed, crossed our names off and said "If I don't get my name on a patch (referencing Gemini 10 and Apollo 11), neither do you" and then signed it at the bottom.

The 19th Human Exploration Research Analog (HERA) analog mission "departed" on May 24, 2019 for a trip to Phobos, the larger of the two moons of Mars. HERA XIX was also known as C5M2 (Campaign 5, Mission 2).

The 20th Human Exploration Research Analog (HERA) analog mission began on Aug. 16, 2019, marking the seventh simulation to last 45 days.
