Axiom Space release
Axiom Space releases patch for Ax-1 Crew, first private crew to ISS

Axiom Space's Ax-1 mission, with the first all-private crew to ever visit the International Space Station (ISS), ushers in a new era of accessibility, commercialization, and increased science on the orbiting laboratory. The Ax-1 mission patch incorporates these components as the core elements of the crew's insignia and defines a watershed moment in human space exploration.

At the heart of the patch is the venerable ISS itself, the core of this pioneering private research mission, reflecting Ax-1's role as a precursor for future activity in low-Earth orbit and a key step toward the ISS's commercial successor – Axiom Station. The flags of four countries adorn the ISS in the form of its solar arrays, representing this multinational crew and reinforcing the importance of international collaboration in exploration.

A cascading plane of blue represents Earth's atmosphere, and the journey humanity has traveled to arrive in this new era, among the first steps in expanding the human presence in low-Earth Orbit.

Four bright stars – one for each crew member and an atom at the center of the constellation – represent the expedition's scientific and aspirational goals.

The last name of each crew member, Commander Michael López-Alegría of the USA & Spain, Pilot Larry Connor of the USA, Mission Specialist Mark Pathy of Canada, and Mission Specialist Eytan Stibbe of Israel, adorn the top of the design. The bottom highlights the Earth overflown while the mission's historic significance is spelled out in "First Private Crew to the ISS" and MMXXII marks the year.

A golden border inspired by the logo of 'Rakia,' the mission's name in Stibbe's home country, marks the significance of this mission to the people of Israel.

Ax-1 mission specialist Eytan Stibbe has his own mission patch for the Israeli "Rakia" ("firmament" in English) science investigations he will carry out on behalf of the Ramon Foundation while on board the International Space Station.

The patch is available for sale through the Rakia mission website.

Any idea who manufactured the patch? They did a great job!

No other information was provided; Axiom Space posted the photo of the patch to their online photo gallery for the mission.

Unfortunately, the company has yet to provide a way to purchase the patch.

The Ax-1 crew will be the first wear a mission patch on their SpaceX pressure suits — and it appears the patch is PVC.

Eitan Stibbe's personal patch created on basis of Mission Rakia insignia. There are some differences from mission patch. You can see Rakia words in English, Hebrew, and Arabic at the center of logo, astronaut's name on the top and "Second Israeli in the Space" words in Hebrew below.

I ordered a patch yesterday just before the Ax-1 launch and received it today.

As a nice surprise, the patch came with an Ax-1 decal and an Axiom Space decal.

When the Ax-1 crew came aboard the space station on Saturday (April 9), each of the three private astronauts was wearing personal patches on their right arm:
  • Larry Connor: two circular patches, one with the logo of the Cleveland Clinic and the other for the Mayo Clinic.

  • Mark Pathy: two circular patches with unknown logos/designs.

  • Eytan Stibbe: Rakia mission patch (of the same style sold in the mission's gift shop, not his personal patch as also pictured above).

Michael Lopez-Alegria wore the flag of Spain on his right arm, opposite the United States flag on his left.

The lower patch on Pathy's suit is likely that for the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Axiom wasted no time shipping me the shirt I ordered 4/8. It arrived today (4/11) with a sticker of the patch included.

Astronaut Dave Williams posted the logo used in Pathy's top patch today.
“Sky's the Limit, 1.0” is one of the first-ever NFTs minted from space during the historic Ax-1 mission, the first-ever fully private Astronaut mission to the ISS.

Ax-1 Space Mission Specialist Mark Pathy worked with a Canadian artist on an animated design featuring his personal mission patch which bears the motto “Sky’s the Limit", a message that seeks to inspire all to reach for their dreams far beyond what may be immediately visible or in the realm of possibility.

The SpaceX patch still isn't up on their online store after splashdown - anyone know what's up?

Maybe they can put it up once Crew 3 gets back and save us some postage.

I received a reply from SpaceX, which seems to confirm what some others have been posting online: SpaceX is no longer offering its patches.
Please be advised that the items will not be available for purchase.
Some reporters noted that after the Ax-1 and other recent SpaceX launches that patches were not handed out, either.

The (5" at the widest points) embroidered version of the Axiom Ax-1 patch as sold on Axiom Space's website (pictured above) was made by AB Emblem in two small production runs.

Besides the COA, Axiom is putting a sticker on the back of their mission-carried patches saying they were flown.

One more version of RAKIA patch. There is a citation from the Torah around the patch.
