I'm sad to report that Dorothy "Kati" Phelps, who worked at AB Emblem for 42 years, and who many of us had many wonderful interactions with, died on December 9. |

I am very sorry to hear of Kati's death. She was always happy to help with inquiries about AB Emblem's history and ongoing patch production for NASA and it was a pleasure working with her when creating the collectSPACE patches. I think she was as excited about seeing our logo embroidered as I was.I know other members of our community knew her better than I did. Please accept my condolences. |

Kati was wonderful to deal with - always helpful, patient, pleasant and funny - so it's very sad to hear of her passing. I take some comfort in the fact that she clearly enjoyed her many years working at AB. |

Kati was always unfailingly professional, friendly and helpful. During the early ISS expedition days when it was taking too long to get the A-B emblems through government channels to Centaur, the Russian company responisble for producing mission-specific on-board crew clothing, Kati helped us get the patches as soon as they were produced so we could send them directly to Centaur. Thanks to Kati, many crews got their mission garments on-orbit on time. Fly safe Kati. |

I was on the same Kentavr/ISS patch duty with Kati between Expeditions 24 and 43. A couple of times, we would find mistakes in the Russian names in the artworks. Even when her customer (NASA) refused to make the necessary corrections, hiding behind official procedures, we would secretly make things right anyway. Thanks to Kati, not only did the crews get their patches on time, some Russian cosmonauts even got to fly in space with their names correctly spelled. She will be missed. |

Sad to hear of Kati's passing. Purchased many patches through Kati over the years. She had a passion for a certain time travelling Doctor. Who you might ask? |
