I have decided to stop chasing that elusive patch for my collections and am tire of losing auctions that are out of reach or just by a few dollars. I was going to give up completely, but I decided to continue my collecting virtually. instead of buying the patch, I am going to just download the picture of it. This way I can maybe complete my collections. As for my actual collections, I have started the process to donate them to Air Force Space and Missile Museum. I turned over a complete collection of the Titan IV launch vehicle patches with almost a complete collection of the corresponding known spacecraft patches today. I plan on donating each launch vehicle collection after complete and scan all patches. |

Jim, I think you choice to donate your collections to Air Force and Missile Museum is a wonderfully philanthropic endeavour that will allow future generations to appreciate some unique artworks associated with rocketry and spaceflight.I have been collecting virtual patches (high quality scans of patches and artwork) for some time (I suspect my collection is nowhere near as comprehensive or unique as yours). It would be fascinating to view your collection one day In the future, once you have completed your work. |

That is a fantastic collection, you hold some information that should be recorded and saved. Thank you for sharing. It seems a terrible shame that you did not seem to get any replies to your quest 5 years ago to share information, I hope you did get a chance to swap information between other enthusiasts. It would be a great to have records of existing patches here on collectSPACE somewhere, perhaps in the resources tab that people could share. I guess it would be a mammoth task. People like yourself hold a wealth of information on these subjects. Many of these patches have some great artwork and reflect moments in history. |

Jim, anything I can do to help with your endeavor please let me know.. As you know I stopped collecting the Titan, Delta and Atlas patches, still have many in my trade bag and pics on the computer so if anything is needed, give a shout. I still collect those Orbital Sciences, but ended pursuing the newer ones, so you probably have all the ones I have. I am only missing a couple of the earlier ones myself. But again, don't hesitate to see if I got something you need. |
