The full artwork has yet to be released, but here is the simplified embroidery version of the International Space Station's Expedition 59 crew patch.

Expedition 59 will include crew members Oleg Kononenko of Roscosmos, Anne McClain of NASA and David Saint-Jacques of the Canadian Space Agency. Two more crew members are still to be officially announced.

Has Shannon Walker been replaced by Christina Koch? I thought Walker had been scheduled to be the Expedition 60 commander. Unless Walker will fly on a commercial flight.

I guess you could call this the end of the shuttle era. McClain and Hammock-Koch, if they're joined by Shannon Walker on Expedition 60, will comprise a U.S. crew with no shuttle experience amongst its members. Same with 57/58.

Looking at a future schedule from another website, it would appear there won't be another American ISS commander after Drew Feustal for close to two years.

Now, officially, yes. Per a NASA release:
Koch has been assigned to Expedition 59/60, which is set to launch to the International Space Station in April 2019.
And per a NASA spokesperson:
Walker is returning to the active corps here at JSC to assume duties in the astronaut office. She will be considered for assignment to future missions.

This AB Emblem Expedition 59 patch has the patch design number 298976, a new style "crown emblem" embedded label with "A-B Emblem" and "Made In China" and 09/1840 date code, seen/reported so far.

Update on 29-05-19:
A new date code has been seen and now got examples of;
298976 A-B Emblem Made In China 02/1940.

This date code is an error as it is two months after this five names patch was withdrawn and discontinued, for the revised six crew names version of this Expedition 59 patch. (See the three date codes for the revised six crew names patches below).

So she's now going by Koch rather than Hammock-Koch? Or is this because of trying to fit all names on the patch?

I asked Rob Navias of JSC about her name in official documents. The answer: Koch.

Here is NASA's description of the Expedition 59 patch:
The Expedition 59 patch celebrates the International Space Station's role as a microgravity science laboratory. The crew, made up of scientists, doctors, engineers and pilots, will conduct hundreds of experiments for the benefit of mankind and our fragile environment on planet Earth.

The patch shape depicts the cupola windows. Through these windows, astronauts have made many significant observations of Earth's ecosystems and they have discovered and documented real-time events like volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.

The position of the Earth at the top of the patch depicts where the Earth would be seen by an astronaut from the cupola. It represents the explorers' unique perspective on his or her home. The image at the center of the patch is the station itself, the largest single structure humans have ever put into space, an engineering marvel.

The station is overlaid on an atom, the basic building block of all matter. The atom has three electron orbits with the flags of Russia, the United States of America and Canada, representing the home countries of the Expedition 59 crew. Like electrons in an atom, international cooperation is the basic stabilizing force that enables large scale space exploration.

To achieve great deeds, humans from all across the globe must work together in peace with a shared vision. The Expedition 59 patch celebrates the massive scientific accomplishments of the space station while highlighting the importance of global teamwork in understanding our planet and continuing with bold exploration in the future.

Slightly different (gold vs yellow?) on the Space Emblems card than on Skyforce.

So far two of the three date codes have been reported/found attached to these "Space Emblems" sales cards. The colour gold/yellow could vary between production runs?
  • 1/19 20 (Found/got 2)
  • 2/19 20 (Found/got 2)
What date code is on the patches from Skyforce? Answer is 2/19 20 .

All times are CT (US)
