Jeanie Engle, Joe Engle's wife, recently shared on Facebook the early designs for the STS-2 mission patch:
Going through tons of boxes in preparation for our move, I found Joe and Richard Truly's original patch designs for STS-2.

She also has the original sketch that Joe drew along with Truly's help. She said it's already packed and she will share it with me after they get settled next year.

I'd like to be a nudge and point out that two of the designs (middle top and top right) don't have black wing chines.

Generic shuttle used (perhaps based on Enterprise), or done before Columbia got her black chines?

All times are CT (US)
