Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex "Endeavour Fly Out" patch as designed by Tim GagnonLast month, I was asked by NASA's Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to design and create a souvenir patch for the Endeavour Fly Out scheduled for Monday (Sept. 17). I was proud to have the help of Jorge Cartes and Nathan Moeller of Max Q Entertainment. Today I delivered their patch order. The design for this patch was inspired by the fly out images of space shuttle Discovery last April. I wasn't in Florida for that event, I was attending the National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs at the time. Watching Discovery fly low and slow over the Space Coast beaches in tribute to the people that cared for her was awesome. I have now been authorized to share the design publicly. If you are interested in purchasing one of these limited edition patches, contact the Visitor Complex's Space Shop. Coincidentally, Monday will be the 36th anniversary of the unveiling of the very first orbiter Enterprise. The last orbiter built, Endeavour, will depart Kennedy on the same day for the final time. |

Thank you for the kind words. Digitally painting the waves was an interesting challenge. The VC didn't order a great number as this event is time sensitive. I'm giving cS this notice to give you first opportunity to purchase them. |

Tim - you said at the top to contact the Visitor Complex's Space Shop to purchase these now. Who/how do we contact them to do this? The patches aren't listed (yet) on the website, at least I can't find them, and I'd love to get a couple but I emailed them yesterday with no response. Who has a contact there so we can order them? |

When I announced that they were available, it was because I confirmed their order was received. As far as purchasing online, I don't know who to contact because I only purchase stuff in person. It may require calling them. |

Thanks, Tim. Since I couldn't find their number on the website (mostly because I was being STUPID) I couldn't figure out how to constact them. The good news is that I received a response and guess what, they gave me their customer service number! Duh! (Sometimes I can be rather dense. Sorry for the questions.)Anyway... "You can call to place your order at 321/449/4468, or 800/621/9826 ext. 1." Hope this helps someone else as dense as me sometimes! (I won't ask anyone to admit to it though.) |

Unfortunately I was not able to get one from the shop. Anybody here who wants to sell one to me for my ferry flights patch collection? - Would pay more than the $8 USD you gave for it... |

What? I called today and couldn't get an answer. Surely they're not sold out yet. I really wanted one of these great patches. I'll try them again Tuesday. Hope I didn't snooze too long. |

I was able to get through to mail order around 9:30 am eastern time this morning and was able to order three. On edit: Just received FedEx notification, they are on their way. I agree with Bryan, do not leave a message just continue calling. I left messages all week and this weekend and never received a call back. I am sure they are busy though with the event. Good luck! |

Same experience here. I called the mail order line last Thursday and placed my order for a pair (as well as 2 Atlantis "No Place Like Home" patches, which aren't on the store website either.) This afternoon, I received my FedEx shipping notification, as well as a voicemail from a store employee confirming my order total. |

I see another one of these patches has just sold on eBay from the same Arizona based seller as the previous two, but this time for a staggering Buy It Now of $65! And he has listed another for the same prices, ($57.95 and $65). |

Okay, finally got through after several days and many attempts with messages. Here's the deal folks. They are short-handed this week and with all the activities going on with the special tours, the Atlantis roll-in thing and such, they are extremely busy. So don't bother leaving a message. It won't work as they don't have time to call you back right now. If you want to call them and order via phone (your best bet), keep calling. I finally got through about 10 a.m. this morning. Also, for the eBay listing, it's listed with a starting bid of $57.95 and a Buy it Now price of $65. I think they're dreaming. Yes, it's a limited edition patch from Tim, but still, ~$60 each when you can order them from KSC for $7.99 with a couple of phone calls? On the other hand, if Tim is becoming that popular (and I'll admit his patches are beautiful and certainly worth the price!), maybe we should order all the patches he has left! |

Called a few minutes ago and got through on my second call. I was directed to go to the shop's website and order any patch and checkout. In the comments box, I was instructed to put: Attn. Ellen do not send ordered patch. Send Fly-out patch #1133. She said this was the quickest and easiest way to order this patch. I ordered two. |

Received mine today from KSC (a day earlier than expected.) Typically beautiful work by Tim, and bigger than I thought... a full 6" wide. Thanks as always to Tim, and Jorge and Nathan for the assists!Between this, the official ferry flight patches, and Max Q's commemoratives, I'll be able to put together a very handsome "end of program" display. |

I contacted the "Visitor Complex's Space Shop" via their contact form about two weeks ago but as of today I received only an answer telling me that my request was forwarded to the related team. I did not receive any information about ordering, etc. |

I'm in the UK and at this time of year I always order my NASA Calendar for the coming year. I've also ordered a Fly-Out Patch using the instructions given to dogcrew5369, marking up the on-line order form as requested.I'm pleased to see that he got his patches using this method and I just have to hope that "Ellen" picks up the message when shipping my order! |

It did work, but be patient. I actually thought I did it wrong or they forgot. I sent an email and never got a reply after over a week passed and my account never debited for two weeks. I knew it worked when FedEx left them on my front porch. |

Thank you dogcrew5369 for your helpful comments.I'm pleased to report that just a few minutes ago, the postman delivered my order from KSC. "Ellen" had done the business and the "Fly-Out" Patch was enclosed with my NASA 2013 Calendar. The cost to ship to the UK seemed less than for previous orders as well. |

At the Charlie Duke signing in Pontefract two kids in front of me in the queue were given one of these each. The person handing them over said a friend of his had recently visited the U.S. and picked them up there. A very nice patch larger than usual to capture all of the detail. Nice one Tim, I was close but not close enough. |

I am bumping up this thread to ask an embarrassing question.Does anyone have three of these patches available? I have been putting together sets of patches that I've helped design for each of my grandsons. But to my chagrin I don't have this one. Thanks. |
