I wish to buy some patches (Mercury, Gemini, Apollo) to frame with various photographs and prints. Can you recommend resources to purchase and advantages/disadvantages of different quality patches.

Since these patches are just an adjunct to the item, I assume they would not need to be "premier" patches. However, if the cost of the better ones is not that different from the lesser patches then I would consider buying the more expensive ones.

Get the recent AB Emblem Gemini remakes, and Lion Bros. for Apollo. You can find these on eBay fairly regularly.

If you're going for authenticity, of course, Mercury had no patches (other than the NASA meatball).

For completeness, be sure to get two 'unofficial' Gemini patches: the Gemini 3/Molly Brown put out by Gusmobile and the Jim McDivitt-approved Gemini 4 'eagle' available thru Novaspace. The Gemini 3 may be a little hard to get.

As for Mercury, you can use the 'Mercury 7' program symbol and maybe the artwork created for the MA-6, -7 and -8 spacecraft by the late Cece Bibby.

Those are both great patches and a must for "completists." Here's the Novaspace GT-4 page.

John Berry's Gusmobile Memorabilia page appears to have gone dark, but here's the cS thread on the "Molly Brown" patch if it helps.

I followed an old PayPal link on the "Molly Brown" patches about 4-5 months ago and John Berry still had them available. It is worth a try to contact him and see if he has more. The web page is gone, though.

I always put in a word for Joe Fricano and his Skyforce Space Patches site. Lots of patches and free shipping. He's a great guy I love doing business with.

Ditto on Joe Fricano and Skyforce Space Patches. I've had many conversations with Joe. He's a great guy and runs his business like you're a friend. And if you're looking for "official" patches, he only sells AB's or recognized commemoratives.

Could you let me know how to contact John Berry, please? I emailed you but got it back. Thank you in advance for your time!

I note that one of John Berry's GT3 replica patches is up for sale on eBay here.

I agree that Joe Fricano's Skyforce store is the best place for AB Emblems patches. As another member has said, his prices are low and there are no shipping costs.

I would also like to put a word in for Stewart Aviation. Although their website is pretty basic, they send out a paper catalogue that is packed with patches from a variety of sources.

On the subject of Gemini patches, Space Boosters UK sell a reproduction Gemini era "meatball" with white border and extended vector.
