I picked up this "Grumman" Apollo 11 patch the other day and noticed that it has been repaired. It appears to have been done at the factory as the stitching is identical to the un-repaired side and is indistinguishable from the front. Has anyone seen anything like this?
I thought maybe it was intended to obscure some lettering (similar positioning to the Lion Brothers' 3" Apollo 11 specialty patches) but I don't suspect that is the case.
The repair is visible on a secondary piece of mesh on the left side of the back:

Yes Liem I've come across a fair few 'repaired' patches like this one over the years I've been collecting, especially on AB Emblem manufactured patches. The most recent one being a STS-51L 'Resnik' crew issued patch. (One of the ones with the 'white twill' backed tab). But it is the main body of the patch which had been 'repaired'.
