The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum used the space shuttle Enterprise's touchdown in New York on April 27 to debut the new logo for its orbiter activities.

The logo, which headlines the museum's shuttle website, was also seen on event banners, media and VIP credentials, gift bags and on bottles of water labeled for the arrival ceremony.

No embroidered patches yet, but the museum's gift shop said that Enterprise-emblazoned souvenirs are expected to arrive in the next several weeks.

Is it just me or is that the same Orbiter artwork that's on the STS-2 patch and the Mach 25 patch (only simplified)? Also they probably should have inverted at least the Orbiter part of the artwork before printing it on their bags, it looks sort of silly having a white heat shield.

I agree, the logo on the banner looks much, much better than the one on the bag. It´s beautiful. I like the orbiter together with the aircraft carrier.

Now, after you mentioned it, I can see that the orbiter looks like the one on the STS-2 patch.

Are there any logo patches now in the museum store, after the Enterprise has arrived?

There were no patches available when Enterprise arrived at the Intrepid but I was told they were coming (whether they are based on the Intrepid's logo or some other design is still to be seen).

Any news about an Enterprise patch from the Intrepid Museum? Did they do a patch now?

I was just at the Intrepid Museum this past weekend with my sons and visited Enterprise. Unfortunately they did not have patches currently available. They do however, have a few nice t-shirts, hats, and a great poster of Enterprise and SCA 747 flying over Central Park among other items.

With the recent reopening of the Intrepid's Space Shuttle Pavilion, the gift shop has been expanded to include a number of new items, though an Enterprise exhibit or Space Shuttle Pavilion patch is not yet among them.

There is now a lapel pin, though:

And the museum has produced a 5-inch diameter Approach and Landing Test patch:
