These are various NASA tie tacks and a tie bar from Hal French's collection. I will add more shortly. The Mercury Friendship 7 pin is marked but the others aren't.

The "flame" is a red stone.

I acquired this tiebar in a collection of space pins many years ago. Anyone know the significance of the Mercury-spacewalking figure wearing a crown and halo?

It looks like it had some type of stone in the belly, but this one is missing. If anyone has a clue about this, I would love to know the story.

The spacewalking figure is a Biliken, which is the emblem of the Royal Order of Jesters, who are an honorary (and by invitation only) subgroup of The Shriners.

It appears that above piece could be tied to either Wally Schirra and/or Gus Grissom, as both were active members of The Shrine (John Glenn was a Freemason as well, but apparently not a member of The Shrine).

All times are CT (US)
