I have made a few updates to the pages of my Crew Patches site in the last couple of days, including:
  • The Apollo 9 page has been updated to note that the Crew Patch 'variant' was actually worn by Rusty Schweickart on one of his flight suits on the U.S.S. Guadalcanal after the recovery.
  • The Project Patches page has been updated to add an Apollo Project [ASPUNK2] patch which I believe matches that worn by Bill Anders in a photo taken during Apollo 8 training.
  • The Contractor Patches page has been updated to include a photo that shows Grumman employees at the KSC in 1970 wearing variant 2 of the Grumman Logo patch.
  • The Gemini 7 Crew Souvenir Patch entry has been updated to include a photo of Borman wearing this patch during Apollo 8 training in 1967.
  • The NASA Type IV insignia patch entry has been updated with a better image of Cunningham wearing the patch in August 1968 and to add a shot of Mike Collins wearing one in December of the same year.
I should note that all this is thanks to my belated purchase of a set of J.L Pickering's excellent photo compilation discs from RetroSpaceImages.com.

Another update today, thanks to collector Mike Riches, a new version of the Apollo 16 patch AS16UNK3.
