Does anyone remember the patches that Kelloggs made for every U.S. manned space mission from Freedom 7 through Apollo 10? These were placed in one or more of the Kelloggs brand cereals as freebies in the spring of 1969. I'm not sure if they became available before Apollo 10, but they were made before Apollo 10 because the description on the back of that one describes what the crew planned to do, while all of the other ones have clearly already happened based on the descriptions.I have a full set of these, all of them still in plastic, plus some duplicates. I ran across them in a box of space stuff I collected back then. Does anyone know what these are worth? Thanks to anyone who knows anything about these. |

These are quite obviously not copies of the actual mission patches, but something that the folks at Kelloggs came up with themselves.Again, does anyone know anything about these? |

I know that I am currently trying to put together a complete set. So far I have three Mercurys and two Geminis. |

Gilbert, have you seen anything that tells you what these are worth? |

I'm almost certain quite a few of these have been offered on eBay in the last few weeks. |

Yes, I've managed to collect a set over the past few years, including a couple on eBay where the seller would only ship to the US. A very kind fellow collectSPACE forum member helped me out, was prepared to bid and purchase on my behalf and forwarded them onto me in the UK.The late Randy Hunt also produced replica embroidered patches of the Kellogg designs and I have most of these as well. Gilbert, I may have a few spares which I will be pleased to pass onto you if you can wait a couple of weeks. I am flying out to Orlando tomorrow with my nephew to catch, hopefully the last space shuttle launch, STS-135 on the 8th July, fingers crossed. We were very lucky and got tickets to view from KSC Visitor's Center. I'll have a look at what I've got when I get back to the UK in mid July and get back to you then. |

To answer the question of worth... I have paid as low as $3.50 and as high as $7.50 for the patches I own. I don't think any one patch is more valuable or rarer than any other. |
