I've just uploaded a new page on my Crew Patches website dedicated to recovery patches.This is not an area of collecting I've really followed over the years so the page was compiled with the help of fellow collectors, including Ben Guttery, Rick McElvaney, Colin Burgess, Kevin Randall, Butch Wilks and Donnis Willis.
It certainly hasn't been easy to gather information on these patches as many of the originals seem to be extremely rare. In many cases it's not even clear if patches were ever really produced at the time or have only been created as 'fantasy' designs at a later date.
What's certain is that there are a lot of replicas out there, and I have tried to identify at least some of these on the page.
I welcome any corrections or additions from cS members, although I should note that for the moment I'm only covering direct mission-specific recovery ship patches rather than peripheral recovery-related patches.
