A friend of my son's is able to read and speak Japanese, and she was able to translate the Japanese text in a couple of the personal patches in my collection:

  1. STS-72, Koichi Wakata: "Seize the future"

  2. STS-99, Mohri Mamoru: "Earth Mahoroba"
According to Wikipedia, "Mahoroba is an ancient Japanese word describing a far-off land full of bliss and peace. It is roughly comparable to the western concepts of arcadia, a place surrounded by mountains full of harmony and quiet."

All times are CT (US)
