I've been looking for original crew patches and with some help of edgeofdarkness.com. I got an STS-1 and an Apollo X crew patch. But my problem starts with space shuttle (STS) patches, how you can identify if an STS patch is original (crew patch like the STS-1 four color flame)? Does anyone know about a book or a webpage with some information on original STS patches characteristics? I've been trying to look into missions pictures, but on some patches it's almost impossible to compare and decide. |

We still have lots of maintenance to do on these somewhat forgotten pages we started with some 10 years ago, but I believe we have pictures of each original patch at our website. Look at the top of the pages for the originals, sometimes souvenir versions are listed at the bottom of the page.Erik |

You can go on the Heritage Auction House's website and see the STS-1 patch from John Young's flight suit. You need to log on to see an enlarged version of the display. Hope this helps out.
