A new era for patch collecting?

I know there have been personal parches for private crew members over the years, but the Axiom Space Ax-1 crew is a different type of endeavor. Would you collect patches or other merchandise?

Personally, no I wouldn't want to extend my collecting to include this area. Having concentrated on NASA manned spaceflight missions I have more than enough to keep me occupied.

I do see this as an opportunity for new collectors though. A whole new era and to be there at the start. What a great situation.

That of course is assuming there will be patches and memorabilia to collect.

Do you collect Expedition crew patches launched by Soyuz that have non NASA crew on them? Or NASA crew launch on non NASA rockets? This is a US crew on a US rocket going the US portion of the ISS. The US space program is more than NASA.

I collect US launch vehicle and patches patches. If it happens to be manned, no big deal. I don't collect Soyuz patches with US crews or Ariane patches with US payloads.

Not for me, but I’m not a dedicated patch collector. I tend to restrict myself to what I see (by my criteria) as being exceptional and exploration driven patches. So, for example, I have all the Apollo patches, clearly an exploration program. I don’t have most of the ISS ones. I certainly don’t have many examples of all the specials/ commemoratives etc. So this first one, possibly, it’s a first. Others past that, no.

But that’s just me. Like I say, not a dedicated patch collector.

All times are CT (US)
