I just got an Email from Randy Hunt's wife that he passed away on July 8 of a heart attack. I knew he had a real bad heart and I believe he was on the heart transplant list.Mike Zolotorow |

That is so sad. The last time we were exchanging emails was on July 2th. I did not know how ill he was. He did tell me that had a mowing accident several months ago and he was joking about it in his last email. My heart goes out to his family. Thanks for posting this info Mike. I was wondering what had happened to him. Andrew

The news of Randy's passing is a sad note for everyone in the space patch community. Randy provided many of the patches unavailable elsewhere and created a few that never existed. He contributed greatly to this hobby and will be missed.

Though we often sparred on this site, I respected Randy for his passion for patches and had a number of enjoyable e-mail exchanges with him over the years. My condolences to his family. |

I would like to pass on my respects to Randy's family on his passing.Randy had a passion for making up patches for the forgotten parts of the U.S. space programme that we had forgotten, and for today's missions too, and that is a good thing for one man to do. For its history that makes us into what we are today, if we had remember the past it would not be so bad. Randy helped us do this. Having defended him on this site on a number times and having provided a large number of space mission patches to me, I can say that Randy was a true gentleman in this cut throat business of collecting space patches that we are in. And one day I hope that he has the respect that the Lion Bros have now, for the innovations to patch collecting that his patches made and that the patches that he had made up go on to the same highs. I will miss him and his email to me. butch wilks |

Like some others here, I've had issues with the way Randy did business in the past, but I had nothing but respect for his passion for space patches. My condolences to his family and friends.------------------ Bill Hunt |

Hi, sorry to hear about Randy. I believe I purchased patches from him many years ago. Reliable seller. I just noticed someone has left him negative feedback on eBay, I wonder if she knows the circumstances,Nick. Spaceman |

The reason why is that Randy purchased some items and passed away before paying for the items. I have been trying to contact each seller and inform them of the situation.Although I can understand the sellers' frustrations, it's unfortunate how some of them wrote very hurtful comments about Randy even though they did not lose anything as opposed to people, like me, who paid a seller and received nothing. |

Having not logged onto the collectSPACE site for a little while, I was shocked to learn of the sudden death of Randy Hunt. As one of his overseas customers based here in the UK, I have purchased patches from Randy for some years and I always found him a pleasure to deal with. He was always fair on his prices and shipping charges and many times he helped me out by holding patches for me while I bid on others he had up for auction. I always got a quick response to my emails despite the time differences between the UK and Florida. I send my deepest sympathy to Randy's widow and family ------------------ Peter Kemp Chelmsford UK |

Sorry to see this thread. I had nothing but complete success in my dealings with Randy. In fact he went out of his way to help me bring my shuttle patch collection up to date after a long period of inactivity on my part. My sympathies to his family. |
