Though its not the complete patch, here is a first look at the embroidered, simplified version to be worn by the 121 crew on their apparel:

It's the one you've all been waiting for, revealed in a single one of todays CEIT pics from KSC.

Looks like they left a place for Reiter at the bottom. The patch looks very much like STS-112, which Sellers was also on. I wonder if he is behind any part of the design.

Looks like they might add a tab for Reiter like they did for Wolf on STS-86's patch.

And with that, my anonymous source has informed me that Reiter is no longer a 100% sure-fly.

Apparently there is a monetary dispute doing on between NASA and Russia over who should pay for his flight.

Caldwell, who had previously been training with the STS-121 crew, may still have a chance of flying.

Perhaps this is why we haven't had an official announcement of anything yet, nor patches with the name on it.

Yes that could be the reason and I am in doubts whether Reiter ever have been a 100% sure-to-fly desicion before but anyway, the patch seems to me also beside of this topic a little bit unfinished.

...maybe because of the three golden stripes lining to the star at the top, they could substitute the colour with the colour of nation flags if we would get a multinational crew... this would like more usual considering the patches in the recent past.

If Tracy Caldwell does fly on STS-121 will she stay aboard ISS w/ Expedition 11 crew? She trained with 121 but did she train also as ISS crewmember?

Here are some additional news from ESA related to Reiter's mission.

Now the question about the new patches is on the plate.

We now have the official NASA art of the STS-121 patch on our site. The art will probably change and Reiter's name will be added....
