New item, release March 2018 from Good Smile Company: 1/150 Plastic Model Soyuz Rocket & Transport Train
The model allows you to recreate all of the processes from the rollout all the way to landing at the ISS: transportation to the launch site, lift-off preparations, the separation of the multistage boosters and the deployment of the Soyuz spacecraft. Recreate the drama of a lift-off right in your very own collection with this complete rocket kit!

The product is a 1/150 scale plastic model, with the built rocket approximately 32cm in length. The kit makes use of multiple different cast colors, allowing you to create a reliable replica that can capture all the processes of the launch simply by putting the parts together. The model is made from PS, allowing for easy customization and painting of the finished product.

That would be a nice model if already assembled and painted!

According to the website, it is designed to be easy to assemble and doesn't necessarily need to be painted:
The model makes use of a total of eight different cast colors, allowing for a faithful rendition of the rocket even without additional painting. All the parts are designed to connect together with ease, and decals and stickers are included. (Glue is recommended for some areas, not not required.)

That's roughly 'N' scale for model railroaders.

Cool, someone can now build a model train layout with Baikonur Cosmodrome as the theme!

At 1/150 scale, it will be reasonably close to 1/144, which is common for a lot of rocket models. Should make some nice comparisons with a 1/144 scale shuttle, for example.

I think there may be some disappointment with how it looks "in the flesh." According to the website, "Images are sample CG images made based on the design data. It may differ from the final product." I'm guessing that the pictures may look better than the actual model. We'll see...

Funny (or not) I thought it was a pre-assembled model (oops)! It's not.

And it is FAR from being assembled. It is a good old model kit with a lot of pieces (well, once you have cut them loose one by one) and yes, you need glue. And paint, because the parts that are supposed to be yellow, are green. The red parts also are not red — I count only 6 colors of plastic, not 8. Well, it will be fun.

Hobby Search has photos of the completed model, as opposed to the CGI images on other sites.

Actually, I didn't either. I thought it was diecast (or at least pre-assembled and painted plastic).

Although one member of the French Conquest of Space forum has written that it is a snap-fit model (he used glue to make sure that parts will stick together) and no paint, although others have said that for accuracy's sake, paint is required — see picture here.

Mine just got here from HLJ yesterday. It is an unbuilt model. There are, I believe, 12 sprues of pieces, with each sprue molded in a single color. There's a sheet of metallic stickers (ugh) and a few (I believe) water slide decals.

The molded details look to be crisp, and there are impressively small details in there. (Ah, new molds!)

Even if you build it straight out of the box, you're looking at several hours of time to build it well. I think I'll probably end up airbrushing a lot of it anyway, as there are no parts molded in red (like the insides of the Soyuz booster's nozzles), and it looks as if the spacecraft is molded in either a very, very dark green or actually black.

On first look, I'm quite pleased with the kit. There's a lot of plastic here for the price, and it should end up making a very nice model once built. The addition of the railcar will make this a piece that stands out on the display shelf, and I can see lots of possibilities for diorama builders.

According to my modeler, it is going well. Nothing really hard about it. I am keeping the rocket on the rail and then will put the train in a shadow box with a picture I took of TMA-22 heading to the launch pad. I am trying to create a 3D type of display for my office.

Does anyone have photos of the sprues/parts in the various colors, unpainted?

I haven't found any reviews that show the sprues separately, but I did find a photo of all the bagged sprues.
