At Telford, I found out that Revell Germany is releasing the Shuttle Launch Tower in a limited edition in March 2014.Not sure which version, with or without full stack shuttle. The number of the limited edition they could not tell me for sure, but were talking about a few thousand units. |

Wow, awesome news! I need two to build a Saturn V tower, lol. My RSS was badly damaged in a move but the Fixed tower is safe and sound. |

About time!I suspect I'll buy two. One to build, one to hoard! Maybe three to allow for a future space program diorama. |

Hopefully they'll add some photo etch and extra decals or details with the reissue; aftermarket parts can add a lot to the cost of a kit, unless you're striving for a museum-quality model.

The Revell kit is not so expensive as on eBay. 70 GBP according to their price list so photo etched parts will not be included in this release. The Revell kit is not highly detailed so aftermarket parts will not be cheap. LVM Studios has already done four detail kits in their LC-39 detail kit series and the fifth (and last) kit will be released Q1 2014. LC39S5 will have all the details of the Rotating Service Structure. |

Limited edition equates to "we can charge whatever price we want since we know there is a high demand."That's the last thing I wanted to see for that kit. Oh well. |

Hopefully it will be better than the current eBay prices... |

This German retailer includes pricing information in Euros in regards to this limited edition kit. The converted price is about $85.00 USD. |

That seems reasonable, if the shuttle stack is included. |

In the Revell Germany 2014 product release photo above the space shuttle stack is not included in the description. Revell Germany still manufacturers a 1/144 Space Shuttle with the Mobile Launch Platform. My guess is that the shuttle stack is not included. |

The original Revell #4911 did include the shuttle stack. #4910 was the kit without the shuttle. So it stands to reason that this reissue does have the shuttle included. |

If it's the original Revell kit, it is highly inaccurate and takes up a lot of space. It looks nothing like the real thing. I hope that they made an attempt to bring it up to date so it, at least, looks like the real thing. |

I'm sure there will be nothing different or new to this kit. They just went into the closet, dusted off the old molds and started using them again. How many reissues have you seen where major retooling has been done? |

I agree. The kit will probably utilize the same old, inaccurate molds. This model is so hot on the used market Revell Germany has no need to change anything about it. |

What's the going price for the 4911?I have an original sitting in the closet that I bought about two decades ago. I opened the box, but never built the kit and probably never will. |

Just do it a bit at a time. I have started with help of my friend Richard to build the launch tower, then hammerhead crane and rotating service structure. Then once finished, start the shuttle. Yep, the box is huge! |

Please know I mean no disrespect by this question!I just picked up my Revell kit today. I was considering using the LVM detail kits to enhance the project. Is my math/conversion correct that it will cost me about $500 for the set of 5 kits? I'm in USA. I'm sure they are great, but that's out of my league. |
