Every year I select a "high dollar" item to add to my space exploration classroom. This past year I have developed a significant Apollo display. The quality of this display will be outstanding.

For 2014, two items I'm currently considering are the Amodel 1:72 Energia with Buran shuttle model kit or the new resin moonwalker.

Seems like they are both in the same price "ballpark". Big plus for the moonwalker is that it is built!

I guess my concern is which will not be available next year?

I think for uniqueness, the Buran wins. Plus it allows me to present international space efforts better.

But, the shear beauty of the moonwalker is very appealing. Not many images present the glory of manned space as much as this one.

Tough call. Wish I was loaded!

Since you have an extensive Apollo display I think that the 1\6 Apollo 17 Moonwalker would make an amazing addition. It is a very unique model and will offer an impressive extension to the Apollo models that you currently have.

The Moonwalker model is resin and seems like it may be a limited edition kit. We all have to get on this one soon if you really plan on buying it.

Best of luck with your decision.

Moonwalker definitely. Think of it as purchasing a work of art, which it is, rather than a model per se. Ignacio is a fine artist. Mine should be on its way in the next couple of weeks as I ordered before Christmas. Have decided to 'bronze' it is so superb. Am looking forward to making a suitable 'moon' base for it.

It will sit on our mantlepiece.

I would also say that the Moonwalker is the way to go. It is truly a masterpiece. Though I have been wanting a Buran model for some time, I would definitely choose the Moonwalker simply because it is so stunning. It would be a focal point of any Apollo display. If only I had the money to buy one for myself...
