I built a 1/48 Saturn V for the USS Hornet Museum around 1999. That was before digital cameras for me and I don't have any pics. I found one of the top of the model but if anyone has any better shots they could send I'd appreciate it. I used the IMI 1/48 pre-built "toy" model, slightly modified for the top. It actually looked pretty nice and I always liked that "toy." I think I still have a few in storage.

I have been there and was impressed by it. I was there with no one else but me and the workers and I had the entire place to myself back in the early 2000s, I got to go inside the quarantine facility that was used for Apollo 14 that they had sitting in the very spot that both Apollo 11 and 12 sat. I always liked that 1/48 Apollo "toy." It looked to be more than a toy to me and I wish I would have got one when I had the chance. | |
