I recently noticed a 1:400 scale DC-9 modern livery "Weightless Wonder" ("Vomit Comet") model from Jet-X. This is the same scale as many of the Dragon space models out and is a very nice model.

The graphics on it are extremely well done. The model is a die cast metal piece, the gear is set in a down display only.

It does come with a small wire type display stand. These have been on the market for some time, so they are getting hard to find now. Expect to pay $25 to $30 for one of these models.

Thanks for pointing this one out.

Purchased mine from the Flying Mule. The Gemini Jets display stand for 1:400 models is suitable for Jet-X models (just tried with the L-1011 Tristar model).

Yes, I have the Gemini Jets Sofia as well the 1:400 Virgin Galactic Spaceship in the same scale. The Gemini Jets stands work well with most of the diecast models of this scale. With all the aircraft and rockets together, it makes for a very nice display and along with the Dragon Apollo pieces, gives a good visual idea of the overall scale of all these craft. The DC-9 looks almost like a private jet in relation to them. I want to next pick up the Dragon SCA with the shuttle Discovery for my collection. They are starting to sell out at this time as well.

All times are CT (US)
