Round 2 Models has re-released the MPC kits for the 1:100 Vostok and Titan IIIC rockets. This is the first time these kits have been released in over 35 years. The best deal I could find on these kits is at Tower Hobbies. |

Has anyone told these guys that they misspelled Vostok? Wish the box art was better.

Has anyone ever built these kits? I wonder what the detail is like for a 35 year old kit. |

I have not built it, but received my kit and had a look at it last night. For a 30+ year old mold, it looks really good - no flash evident on any of the parts and no molding issues. Not sure about the fit, as I have not dry-fitted any of the parts. They have included a clear nose cone that will allow you to display the satellite, as well as a clear part to fit over the main engines and presumably allow the finished kit to stand upright. |

They fixed the misspelling on the box artwork before the kits went into production, but apparently the images sent to retailers didn't get changed out. Other than that, the box art with these kits are excellent!I received my Titan IIIc today. Very nice for such an old kit. Some of the parts for turning it into a flying model rocket are still there. |

I know there isn't much chance of it, but I would love to see an after market Soyuz conversion kit. |

And a conversion set for a MOL/Blue Gemini for the Titan would be nice too

I went ahead and did a YouTube inbox review video for the kits. I've got both models partially assembled and they are not bad. Given their age, it does take a bit of fiddling to get things to fit, but MPC did a pretty good job researching both subjects back in the 1970s. I am glad these are out once again. |
