I'm by no means an expert model builder but I like to build. We will be going to Cocoa Florida in a few weeks to see a family friend who worked and retired from NASA. He started as an engineer during Apollo and worked all through the Shuttle missions. He's pretty sad to see the shuttle missions coming to an end. So I thought I'd build him a model. I had this small shuttle model laying around so I built and painted it and stuck the Atlantis stickers on it since it will be the last. I made an oak base and put some clear coat on it, and then bought some great stuff foam insulation for the smoke and painted it white. I think it turned out okay. Might have to build one for myself, but he's more deserving of this. Thanks for looking... |

Wow, that is a nice clean build. I love the display base you did with the sculpted SRB trails. The black lines accenting the recessed panel line splits are also a nice touch.Good work! | |
