Kubrick cosmonauts: Made by Japan's Medicom Toy, Kubricks are a cross between LEGO and Playmobil but modeled to represent celebrities and other pop-culture favorites. New to their line for this May are Cosmonauts including mini versions of Yuri Gagarin, first dog Laika, and a surprisingly detailed Vostok spacecraft. Imported from Japan, the box set should retail for about $50 (US).

...I want some of those Kubrick Cosmos.

This is freaking awesome. Kind of pricey though. Are there any more of these toys out there? Are they also expensive? I know Kubrick is like a high end Lego type toy.

Unfortunately, the rumored expansion of the Cosmonauts line of Kubricks never materialized. As noted above, I bought the Vostok set when it first came out in 2003 and it was (and still is) just as awesome as it looks online. The set is long sold out, so second-hand sales are your only source for it.

All times are CT (US)
